2017 Day 4 -The Other Side

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.  

Every family has traditions and Thanksgiving traditions can be legendary.  There are incidents that occur at Thanksgiving that have been repeated as must-dos, must not dos, or do you remember when.  I believe that a researcher can make some real medical advances if they study how people sleep as they prepare for Thanksgiving.  There are so many things to coordinate - the menu, the cooking schedule, the travel schedule, sleeping arrangements, dinner arrangements,  are we shopping or not, if we are shopping are we shopping online or going to the store, are we going on Thursday or Friday. So much preparation.  Which games are we playing, is your service at dawn or 10? Can we wear jeans to church today? What time are we delivering the meals to the homeless?  Good dishes or paper plates….what if you decide to stay home with your immediate family? Oh…that's me so I will keep my emotional baggage packed for the moment.

So much preparation…..All that you are doing is awesome and appreciated.  You are following in the footsteps of the greatest preparer we know. 

1 Corinthians 2:9 Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the thing which God has prepared for those who love him.

God is preparing a table for you at the end of the 40 days.  Psalm 23:5 says You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.  Will you arrive at your Launch destination?

We need to transform our approach to life. We must choose to live Proverbs 3:5-6. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight."
