2017 Day 12 - God's Friend

Friends, how many of us have them, Friends, ones we can depend on, Friends, how many of us have them, Before we go any further, let’s be friends!

Is a word we use everyday

Most the time we use it in the wrong way

Now you can look the word up, again and again

But the dictionary doesn't know the meaning of friends

And if you ask me, you know, I couldn't be much help

Because A friend is somebody you judge for yourself.

This is from the Hip Hop Translation Whodini Chapter 1:Verses 1-5  I would like to highlight verse 3 - Is a word we use everyday, most of the time we use it in the wrong way.

As you journey through the Surrender Fast you will need a friend. And as I highlighted in verse 3 the word is used in the wrong way, I suggest you reconsider who you call a friend in this season.  Proverbs 8:17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently and early will find me.   Quickly look at Proverbs 3:12 For the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights revelations 3:19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline, so be earnest and repent Hebrews 12:6 For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.

We generally seek comfort so we consider those who comfort us, allow us to be ourselves, those who don’t judge us, these are people that we call friends.  Please consider the word of God, the Lord disciplines those He loves.  For those who do not seek God first, maybe because you don’t want the truth so early.  Imagine what your journey would be if you did God’s Will God’s Way (As Dr. Celeste says is the purpose of the Surrender Fast).  What if you sought God first, early and follow his discipline, his plan?  You will discover the depth of his friendship. So before you go any further..stop, turn to God and say Let’s be Friends.
