No.
Repeat after me.
No.
Wait for it. Don't say another word. Feel it.
Do you feel it? The pressure building up. Your mind is calculating. Your heart is racing. Wait. Let the feeling past, Let the words that are resting on your tongue, pushing on your teeth, filling your mouth, cutting off your breath, let them slide down your throat, swallow, breathe. Breathe and smile!
No. Is a complete sentence. It does not need assistance, explanation, or clarification, it is enough.
Just as you are enough!
Your presence is enough.
You
Me
Myself
I
I am the sum of my experiences and God's grace.
We are perfectly flawed to be used by God as living witnesses of His matchless power, His unmerited grace His unending mercy and His life-changing love.
Can you rest in that? Can you live with that? Can you serve with that?
With what?
With the knowledge that you are enough. That you can say No without explanation.
If you are not, it is mission critical that you become comfortable.
You will not be able to explain the next move of God. And the time you spend trying to convince yourself or someone else will limit your ability to fully experience the move of God.
When you are not comfortable, what do you do? You make adjustments, changes, decisions to get comfortable. You begin to get creative.
In short, you get lost in your head, as a dear friend told me recently. And while searching for the words to supplement your No or to describe your actions, we can miss the full experience of God's grace. So many times, we can look back and see God's hand in a situation. What a peace it must be to be able to see God's hand as it moves in our lives because we have faith to say No and the courage to say Yes.
Say Yes to the Love U Challenge.
