Day 38- Childlike Humility

Matthew 18:1-5 Living Bible (TLB)

18 About that time the disciples came to Jesus to ask which of them would be greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven!  2 Jesus called a small child over to him and set the little fellow down among them, 3 and said, “Unless you turn to God from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. 4 Therefore anyone who humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. 5 And any of you who welcomes a little child like this because you are mine is welcoming me and caring for me.

I am almost speechless.  I don't have words but I have a praise.  I praise God for all that He has done.  I have been set free from something I had no idea had a hold on me.  I saw a t-shirt the other day that I found funny; it said I can't adult today.

I have been adulting for a long-time.  I have been struggling with God over control of my life. I want to be responsible and accountable and dependable.  I want him to know if He give me an assignment, I will do the work and complete it, He can count on me.

That is not what He is requiring of me. I trust Him and He knows I do. He wants to take my trust in Him to a different level.  I don't know what it looks like but I know the words Childlike Humility broke a stronghold in my life.  I will not be adulting with God.  I will go back to what I was taught as a child:

• I will humble myself when I pray
• I will count my blessings
• I will ask His permission
• I will be grateful for the what He provides
• I will be patience
• I will be honest
• I will be curious and open to amazement
• I will be hopeful
• I will be teachable
• I will play with my brothers and sisters in Christ!
