As a child one of my
favorite games was Hot/Cold. Do you
remember playing this game with your friends, siblings or cousins? You would choose whose turn it was and then
they would have to leave the room or the area if you were outside. Then you would hide an object. When they came back, their mission was to
find the object. They would walk around
the room and they would receive verbal clues…you are cold, you are at the North
Pole and based on the responses they would change their direction. As they were closer you would say, you are
getting warmer, warmer and when they are at the object you are hot, you are on
fire, until they picked up the object.
The person who found
the object the fastest generally responded to the clues the quickest.
They changed their direction, they tried a new way, they did not
necessarily ask are you sure, they moved.
And generally didn’t go back to the cold places. They stayed where it was warm and moved until
it got hot.
Marsai Martin, Diane
on Blackish, tweeted to request a meeting with Jordan Peele to pitch a
project. A fan replied, that she was
still trying to figure out how to ask for a raise. Marsai response was
. If
you don’t ask for what you want, the answer to your question is already no
(because you never asked)... so what is there to be afraid of? The only
possible outcome is a positive one because you already have a “no”. So go get
your yes...
This morning, I am
encouraging you to go get your yes!!
Where are you standing in need? What are you desiring, hoping for, what
is in you path of your vision? We are blessed and God has provided much, there
is still more to do and more to acquire for the kingdom.
In Proverbs
1:23, KJV: "Turn you at my reproof:
behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto
you."
It is almost like
the game of hot/cold. When you are
searching for your answer or seeking the Lord’s will, the Lord may respond with
cold, you must turn at his response or his reproof and keep an open heart, mind
and ear. Keep searching until you feel
the warmth of his blessings, his wisdom, his spirit. You do not know how your
answer will appear. Look back over your life..you can see God and his hand in
situations now that in the moment you just knew it was not God..no way it could have
been. But now after the storm has passed, you see how you were kept
even it that situation.
The new living
translation says
Proverbs
1:23, NLT: "Come and listen to my
counsel. I'll share my heart with you and make you wise."
Today, let’s lace up
our sneakers, get in the game, make our desires known and go get our Yes!!!!!!
It’s our winning season!
