2017 Day 38 Childlike Humility


When I read this passage of Matthew 18:1-5, verse 3 stood out to me. Truly, I tell you unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

I will readily admit I have not been a little child for a long time and currently, God has seen fit to allow me to parent a teenager and a young adult…not little children.  So I had to think about a little child and remember.  The words that came to mind are curious, dependent, and potential.  There were more but they can keep for another day and another conversation.

These stuck out because they are almost the opposite of what it means to be a woman.  I think a woman should be focused, independent and set.   I think my view of being a woman needs a little readjusting according to Matthew 18:3.  It says unless you change and become like little children.  Unless you change.  Change…  Yes, change.

This surrender fast was designed to prepare us for life with God in a different way.  In a way that would allow us to do God's Will God's Way.  Unless we change and become like little children we may never experience God in a way that He desires for us to relate to Him.  

Today is Workout Wednesday!  Ana, Certified Personal Trainer and Owner of DNA BodyWorx, asked the question-Who do you show up for when it is time to work out?

The workout is individual and it is about you.  Your why needs to be about you; not an upcoming event, a dress, or for someone else.  It is about you being fit and well.  You need to be healthy to do what you are called to do.

For the last three days of the Surrender Fast, today, Thursday and Friday - journal what you eat. It does not need to include the amount, just what you ate.  Then review your journal, what did you eat and identify the foods with sugar.  This will make you aware of what you are consuming.

Also, be committed to moving 30 minutes a day.  Get moving!
