One of today's scriptures is Joel 2:18-27. Let's look at verse 25 - I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten - the great locust and the young locust, the other locust and the locust swarm - my great army that I sent among you.
Locusts are related to grasshoppers and grasshoppers eat vegetation. In their solitary phase, when there are few of them, they are relatively harmless. They camouflage themselves, run or hop away from everything and they are so scared of spiders that according to National Geographic the fear of the spider can alter their body chemistry.
Even with this knowledge, the Lord called them a great army in verse 25. He does this because, under certain circumstances, they procreate abundantly and become a swarm. As a swarm, they cause destruction. Praise God that He declared restoration from the destruction of the swarm.
Fear causes grasshoppers to chemically change, during these past 40 days how have you changed?
How did you transform?
Daniell Clarke, Co-Founder of The Sister Network, on this Transformational Thursday asked the question: Did you transform temporarily for the 40 days or has it been a transfiguration or a metamorphosis?
She explained how the characters - AutoBots from Transformers parallels our lives. We transform for the situation. She challenged us to be as it is written in Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
